Event Badges
One reusable event badge for every attendee.
It replaces the printed badge at your event — written at the desk or prepared in batches ahead of time, and correctable either way without a reprint.
Collected afterward and issued again at your next event.

Printed badge vs. Joan event badge
Printed badge
$13 to print one badge.
A managed on-site printing service for a 500-person event. Printer fleet, stock, backups — priced in before day one.
A no-show is wasted stock.
Badges are printed ahead for the full guest list. One nobody claims is a sunk cost — thrown away.
A wrong name means a reprint.
A misspelled name, a substitute delegate, a last-minute speaker upgrade — each one means a new card.
Sustainability is a claim.
Thrown in the bin after one day. The story has no evidence behind it.
Joan event badge
Reusable hardware, no fleet to run.
One badge issued per attendee, reused at the next event. No printer fleet, no backup units, no stock to reorder.
A no-show costs nothing.
Prepared ahead or written at the desk — either way, a badge nobody claims is simply cleared and reused, never wasted.
A wrong name means a resync.
Seconds, from the same check-in device. Not a reprint, not a new card.
Sustainability is evidence.
Reused across events, supported by Visionect’s ISO 20121:2024 supplier validation.
What a reusable badge changes about running the desk
Three things about event badges that have nothing to do with printing.

Badges belong to you, not the guest
The badge belongs to the organiser, not the wearer. Cleared after the event and issued again at the next one — nothing to hand out and never see again.

Walk-ins get the same badge as everyone else
No separate desk, no separate process. A walk-in is written the same way as a guest who registered months ago.
How it works
Two ways to write a badge
Your team works the desk with a tablet, finds the attendee on the list, and writes the badge. Registered months ago or five minutes ago — same three steps.
Closed guest list? Write badges in batches before doors open, sorted for pickup.

Part of the Joan platform
Same badge, no separate system
Event badges share the same account, hardware, and licence model as Joan’s visitor and employee badges — one platform across every badge you issue.
Frequently asked questions
Can we buy event badges today?
Yes, event badges are available now. Talk to Sales before you buy. Event is the newest of the three use cases, and we will confirm the right setup for you.
How many badges can be ready before doors open?
About 50 badges per Bluetooth session on one device. Add stations for a larger guest list.
What about same-day registrations?
Same check-in flow. No separate process.
What if a name’s wrong, or someone’s swapped in last-minute?
A resync from the check-in device. Not a reprint.
What happens to the badges after the event?
Collected, cleared, recharged. We’ll help plan the hand-back for your venue.
Does this connect to our registration platform?
Your data, your system. Integration is still being defined with our first event customers — tell us which platform you use.
Can we add our own branding or a QR code?
Not on the standard templates yet. It’s on our roadmap.
What does it cost?
Event badges use the same hardware and licence model as Joan’s other badges, with no minimum order. Request a quote and we’ll price your full setup in your currency, including check-in stations and volume pricing for your event size.
